“International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGC)” is a “hybrid” congress consist of DNA Day Events for only one day (April 25) and Scientific Congress.
DNA Day is a holiday celebrated on April 25. It commemorates the day in 1953 when James Watson, Francis Crick, Maurice Wilkins, Rosalind Franklin and colleagues published papers in the journal Nature on the structure of DNA. Furthermore, on that day in 2003 it was declared that the Human Genome Project was very close to complete, and “the remaining tiny gaps [we]re considered too costly to fill.”
In the United States, DNA Day was first celebrated on April 25, 2003 by proclamation of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
“International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGC)” will take place in Ahi Evran University, Kırşehir between April 24-28, 2017.

The International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGC) presents an opportunity for national and international researchers to share their expertise and interact with primary and high school students to celebrate one of the most important discoveries in the field of genetics. This congress allows the interaction between scientists from different fields and eager youngsters. The excitement that we will see in the eyes of the children will remind us of the magic behind the scientific discoveries and why we as scientist chose this path. For that I highly encourage researchers, scientists and students to attend this meeting, where we will discuss science and have fun while doing it.

We celebrate International DNA Day since many years in Pakistan through National Academy of Young Scientists (NAYS) in which we arranged seminars, model competition etc. but The International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGGC) will be a mega scientific event in Turkey which will be joined by good number of researchers from all over the world and will cover many aspects of genomics and its applications. The beauty of this event is that many young students from schools and colleges will join and I am sure they will be inspired by the talks and to know the advancements in the field of genomics. I greatly appreciate the efforts of organizers for giving such a nice blend in this event. I will recommend all the young researchers to join the congress not only to network but also share, learn and discuss the advancements in the field of genomics.

Our understanding of life dramatically changed after DNA structure discovery in April 1953. From that time, genetics flourished and enabled humankind to learn about and fight against many diseases. It is important to remember and celebrate these initial findings that inspired scientists all over the world to research in a more profound way. Therefore, join us at International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGC), learn more about recent findings in genetics or share your ideas and concepts with international community of scientists.

DNA is arguably the most famous molecule since it’s discovery, and DNA research is celebrated by many disciplines with the advent of molecular cloning, synthetic biology, PCR, and genomic sequencing, with crucial links beyond chemistry, biology and medicine. DNA day is the opportunity to have a feel for what is happening around DNA across all disciplines and geographical regions. The location of this conference is also unique – in the middle between East and West, South and North, and populated since the beginning of human history.

It is always exiting and I feel inspired to talk about heredity. Discussing with other colleagues in the field or new scientist about heredity, could help to find break-through thoughts in the field. Heredity concerns all of us, should create a collegial and interactive environment.

It is a pleasure to participate in the scientific committee of the International DNA Day and Genome Congress (IDDGC). I really believe that this congress will be a wonderful and perfectly organized meeting for scientific networking, and the scientific content will be impressive. A unique and amazing feature of this congress is the opportunity given to high school and undergraduate students to network with international researches.

Human genome sequenced in 2003 and the date was a milestone for molecular scientists. Initially, the scientists presumed that molecular mechanisms as well as unrevealed genes could be elucidated readily but the scenario of four letter DNA code was not that simple. Translation of DNA code was far more complicated than initially thought. However, scientists have been working on details of the DNA code since then. And innovative technologies help our understanding of DNA interaction and control mechanisms.
“International DNA Day and Genome Congress” brings eminent scientists and interested faculty together to coordinate and cooperate to understand and evaluate recent findings and applications.

This conference is a great way to be exposed to different aspects of genetic and many topics of research projects that involve DNA. There is also plenty of opportunities to ask any other random questions and network with professionals and other researchers. It is going to remind you of the beauty and versatility of genetic. I strongly recommend this conference to all the researches who are interested in the genetic sciences.
